Toyota Boshoku develops "QUALIA POD" equipped with a nap-inducing swing chair and conducts demonstration experiment at Narita International Airport
Kariya (Japan) May 31, 2024 - Toyota Boshoku Corporation has leveraged the technology it has cultivated in the development of vehicle interior spaces to develop the QUALIA POD, which is equipped with a function that appeals to the five senses and allows relaxation, as well as a swing chair that induces a comfortable nap. From June 3rd, Monday to June 28th, Friday, we will install it at the "NARITA PREMIER LOUNGE" in Narita International Airport (Narita City, Chiba Prefecture) and conduct a demonstration experiment targeting lounge users.
The newly developed "QUALIA POD" is a seat of the highest grade MX Prime of the MX221*, which we have been developing as a MaaS share-ride space concept and has been developed for use in areas other than mobility. Similar to the MX Prime, the seat rocks like a cradle and is equipped with a system that quickly induces a nap, as well as personal acoustics and a function that emits a relaxing scent, in pursuit of a comfortable sitting experience. In addition, we designed it to be installed in a public space, and although it has a compact shape, it has the feel of a private room with privacy in mind, creating a space where you can relax.
