Hydrogen power system

Contributing to the widespread adoption of clean energy products through the miniaturization of fuel cell system

The world is increasingly focusing on hydrogen energy as a clean energy source in the pursuit of carbon neutrality. Our company’s products, such as “FC separator” and “air filter,” are used in fuel cell vehicles, a leading example of hydrogen energy utilization. Leveraging our production technology and years of expertise, we have developed a compact hydrogen power system.
This has enabled the use of hydrogen energy in small mobility. Hydrogen generation does not emit CO2 and has a low environmental impact. Additionally, the air filter installed in the Hydrogen Power System captures air pollutants like NOx and Sox, releasing clean air into the atmosphere.

Miniaturization of FC stack

The Hydrogen Power System utilizes advanced precision pressing techniques and a high-rate lithium-ion battery system to assist with momentary input and output. As a result, the fuel cell (FC) stack has been miniaturized to a handheld size. In electric bicycles equipped with this system, the FC output remains constant. During uphill or starts, when there’s a sudden demand for high power, the lithium-ion battery provides assistance. Conversely, during downhill sections, the FC output charges the lithium-ion battery.
This lithium-ion battery, still in development, achieves a high porosity separator by using nano-fiberized non-woven fabric.

Adoption of thermal management system

In the cooling system, a ‘thermal management system’ that utilizes the thermal characteristics of the hydrogen tank and the water-cooled fuel cell (FC) stack has been adopted. The hydrogen tank has a property where it becomes cooler as it continues to release hydrogen, making it harder to discharge hydrogen. On the other hand, the water-cooled FC stack tends to heat up as it continues to generate power. Therefore, by circulating water between these two, a mechanism has been created that takes advantage of each other’s properties, resulting in a more compact system.

Ease of handling hydrogen tank

The hydrogen tank is the size of a plastic bottle, making it easy to handle. This also allows for easy the hydrogen tank replacement.

Our strengths

Our company has developed core technologies over many years, including precision pressing techniques and resin molding. Additionally, through supplying products to Toyota’s fuel cell vehicle, the ‘MIRAI,’ we have gained expertise in mass production. Leveraging these technologies, we were able to develop a compact and high-output density fuel cell stack.

Contribution to the world

Electric bicycles and electric kick scooters, which are used in sharing services and ‘last-mile mobility,’ are expected to become even more widespread in the future. Our company aims to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by equipping such small mobility solutions with the Hydrogen Power System.
