Toyota Boshoku Gateway (Thailand) Wins the 2012 GOOD FACTORY AWARDs

TOYOTA BOSHOKU Gateway (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (hereafter, TBGT), a subsidiary of the Toyota Boshoku group in Thailand, won the 2012 GOOD FACTORY AWARDs, which are sponsored by the Japan Management Association.

The awards were founded to promote the strengthening of the monozukuri (manufacturing) potential of the manufacturing industry in Japan. The awards commend excellent Japanese companies' factories* operating in China and Asia, as well as in Japan, for achieving results in management, such as in process innovation, human resources development and corporate social responsibility in manufacturing.

TBGT won the "Monozukuri (manufacturing) Process Innovation Award", recognized for comprehensively enhancing and improving quality and manufacturing processes. TBGT has set annual targets to consolidate and generalize existing production lines, and achieved outstanding manufacturing process innovation to handle production increase from 250,000 to 400,000 seats without undertaking factory expansion. To enhance innovation, all employees, including top managers, participate in an independent study group to learn the fundamentals of the Toyota Production System, through which local leaders and members' improvement abilities are cultivated.

Toyota Boshoku group will highlight TBGT as a positive example in promoting improvement activities globally.
