Toyota Boshoku held a Ceremony celebrating the production start of the first ordered seats in France
Kariya, JAPAN January 18, 2012- Toyota Boshoku held a ceremony at TOYOTA BOSHOKU SOMAIN S.A.S. (hereinafter referred to as "TBSO") on January 17th to celebrate the production start of Toyota Yaris seats, headliner and filter that are delivered to TOYOTA MOTOR MANUFACTURING FRANCE S.A.S. Attendees at the ceremony included Secrétaire Général of Sous-Prefecture de Douai Jérôme Collas, President of local community, Coeur d'Ostrevent Jean-Jacques Candelier and Executive Vice President of TOYOTA MOTOR EUROPE NV/SA Masahisa Nagata. "I would like to thank people of the European Union, French state and local community, Coeur d'Ostrevent for their great support toward our project. As a member of Toyota Boshoku group, we have managed to start as one of the most competitive suppliers in the European automotive industry", said TBSO President Jean-Luc Hennebicq.
TBSO was established in 2008 as the first seat manufacturing base for Toyota Boshoku in the European Union, and began production of the first ordered Toyota Yaris seats in July 2011. TBSO also produces headliners, air cleaners, and cabin air filters, in addition to the seats. The cabin air filters are produced through integrated manufacturing that starts from the filtering medium and proceeds all the way to assembly of the finished product and this is the first time that Toyota Boshoku is conducting this integrated manufacturing outside of Japan.
In the future we plan to continue steadily building up a manufacturing base that is suited to the region and contribute to the society by delivering high-quality products at affordable prices.

*:TBSO is established as Toyota Boshoku acquired the Sieto Plant from the French automobile seat manufacturer, Faurecia. Starting in January of 2010 the plant began producing seats for Yaris on consignment for Faurecia, and switched its product to seat of the Toyota Yaris after its model change in July 2011.
