Toyota Boshoku Corporation (Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi Pref., President: Shuhei Toyoda) held the Opening Ceremony for Toyota Boshoku Gateway (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chachoengsao, Thailand, hereinafter TBGT), a company which produces automobile interior parts in Thailand, at its site today (August 9, 2007).
This ceremony was held in commemoration of the beginning of the new TBGT as a sub-subsidiary, which was previously an affiliate in Thailand. Those attending the Opening Ceremony numbered 150, including Thailand government officials; Chachoengsao administration officials; Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. President Ryoichi Sasaki and other staff; and Toyota Boshoku President Shuhei Toyoda. In commemoration of the foundation, the new company donated medical equipment to the government of Chachoengsao as part of the company’s social action program for the local community.
TBGT produces seats and door trims for the Corolla, Camry, and other models for the Gateway Plant of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., a locally-incorporated company in Thailand of the Toyota Motor Corporation.

Toyota Boshoku Asia (in Samutprakarn, Thailand; a regional management company of Toyota Boshoku in the ASEAN region) affiliated with Thai Automotive Seating and Interior (TASI; a joint venture established by NHK Spring Co., Ltd. [Headquarters: Yokohama, hereinafter “Nippatsu”] and Toyota Boshoku) as its subsidiary – after acquiring all the shares held by Nippatsu and changing the name TASI to TBGT, from August 1, 2007. Accordingly, Toyota Boshoku will enhance its development and production structure in the ASEAN region, making Thailand its center, and will accelerate the construction of the Group’s global network as an automobile interior system supplier. |
