Toyota Boshoku Kentucky Awarded the Large Business of the Year Award

(Harrodsburg, KY) October 28, 2014 – Toyota Boshoku Kentucky’s (hereafter, TBKY) plant in Harrodsburg, KY has been awarded the Large Business of the Year Award from the Mercer County Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of the company’s effort, hard work, community concern, and achievement.

Speaking on the meaning of this award to the company, TBKY General Manager Brian Smith said, “TBKY and its team members are strong supporters of the local community.  We take pride in serving our youth through volunteering, participating in programs, hosting young students at our plant, and teaching them about protecting the environment. We are humbled to be recognized an outstanding business in Mercer County.” Smith said that the plant’s commitment to the community can be traced back to the company’s founding beliefs, which emphasize the importance of contributing to local society. Plant Manager Guillermo Ramirez added, “Harrodsburg residents are friendly, family-oriented, and hard-working. They’re proud to be a part of the TBKY family, and we’re proud to be a part of theirs.”

TBKY Harrodsburg, which opened in 1998, employs 158 team members. The plant supplies interior door trim and injection molded parts to various automotive manufacturers in North America. Toyota Boshoku Kentucky, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Boshoku America, Inc. headquartered in Erlanger, KY. Toyota Boshoku America employs over 11,000 members at 23 locations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil. Their parent company, Toyota Boshoku Corporation, is a global automotive interior manufacturer, headquartered in Japan, which traces its heritage back to the founding of Toyoda Boshoku in 1918.
