Toyota Boshoku Indiana Starts Producing Automotive Interior Parts

Toyota Boshoku Indiana, LLC (Indiana, USA; “TBIN”), a manufacturing company established in November 2007 by Toyota Boshoku Corporation (Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi Pref.; President: Shuhei Toyoda; “Toyota Boshoku”) has recently started producing automotive seat parts.

TBIN produces seat frames and seat urethane for Highlander SUVs, which Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Inc. (“TMMI”)*1 started producing this October. The seat parts produced at TBIN are assembled into seats at Automotive Technology Systems, LLC (Illinois, USA; “ATS”), a company in Toyota Boshoku group, and then delivered to TMMI.

Since fall 2008, Toyota Boshoku has been restructuring its North American business to meet drastic changes in the business environment. In Indiana, the group intends to develop an optimal system of production and logistics around the following three companies by building on their local synergies and seeking an efficient management of operations: TBIN, which has just started production, Total Interior Systems-America, LLC (Indiana, USA)*2, and ATS.
