Environment

The environment has become a vital theme toward which Toyota Boshoku is undertaking concerted efforts in developing next-generation vehicles. In order to draw out the characteristics of next-generation vehicles that reduce the burden on the environment, we are aiming to realise a recycling-oriented society with no increase in the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere through the use of plant-derived materials and by boosting fuel efficiency through weight and power savings in these vehicles.

Aiming for CO2 cycle through the use of plant-derived materials

carbon neutrality

Utilising plant-derived materials in automotive interior parts

By using plant materials for interior components, we are aiming to attain CO2 cycle throughout the product's lifecycle.

Plants absorb CO2 via photosynthesis during the growth process, so even if CO2 is emitted during combustion, there is no increase in the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere.

Initiatives for interior parts that utilise plant-derived materials

Improvement of Fuel efficiency

How to run cars on minimal energy

By making parts lighter and reducing air resistance, we are contributing to the development of vehicles that can drive greater distances with the same power and the same amount of fuel.
